When you make the decision to enroll your student at Southside Middle School, know that Knight Nation embraces your student’s unique strengths and capabilities. It is our mission to ensure they learn the necessary skills to develop their minds and exceed their own expectations. Our team of hard-working educators strives to help all students achieve high educational standards of excellence in a nurturing and safe environment. In addition to multiple academic opportunities, we also offer many extracurricular programs in the areas of arts, athletics, and language that we encourage all students to explore for a well-rounded education.
We take pride in the uniqueness and individuality of all our students. Each day, our faculty and staff enter the building ready to educate, encourage, and celebrate the success of a diverse group of students, many of whom speak English as a second language. We offer a differentiated learning path for students who recently immigrated to the United States and those who are learning the English language. This program allows these students to focus on academics while also learning how to transition to American culture in a safe and nurturing learning environment.
We Nurture the whole child
Southside Middle School students see our campus as a home away from home where they feel academically challenged and emotionally supported. Our students flourish in various levels of academic coursework, including our International Baccalaureate program, while also being intensely supported mentally, socially and physically. Students enjoy our vast number of extracurricular activities that include Anime, chess, computer, drama, gardening, journalism, and more. Southside Middle is a welcoming school that nurtures the whole child and values their individuality.

In doing so, we join their parents and caregivers in the mission to nourish and develop a well-rounded student who will thrive academically while also becoming an essential part of our community. Southside Middle School works to build students' confidence as they learn the English language and American culture.
