Good afternoon Venetia Families! You are invited to our Academic Family Night on Thursday, January 30th from 5:30 PM-6:30 PM. There will be fun reading, math and science activities. You will leave with information on how to enhance learning at home. The Science STEM Team will bring 3D pens and filament, straw connectors, and will set up a Makey Makey keyboard for students to use. You will also get to see classroom Science Projects and individual Science Projects completed by our 5th Grade students displayed in the Media Center. Come join us for lots of FUN and LEARNING! Hello 5th Grade Parents, This weekend is the School Saturday Showcase for Middle Schools, Saturday, January 11th. This is your time to tour Middle Schools and make a selection through the School Choice Application due Friday, January 31st.

We are having a Holiday Luncheon for our wonderful staff. Please donate desserts for the luncheon. All donations can be dropped off at the front office.

Good afternoon Venetia Families! We are excited for another wonderful week. Just ten days until winter break. Reminders for the week: *Tuesday, Dec 10: Grinch Day! Wear Grinch or green attire. *Wednesday, Dec 11: Holiday Cheer from Head to Toe! Wear your favorite holiday head gear and socks. *Friday, Dec 13: Holiday Pajama Day! Wear your favorite holiday pajamas. As a reminder, Class Parties are on December 18th. Please reach out to your child's teacher for additional and specific information. December 18th is also an Early Release Day. Dismissal starts at 1:30 PM and ends at 1:45 PM. VOLUNTEERS: In order to volunteer in class , on field trips and/or eat lunch with your student, you must be volunteer cleared. Please be sure to complete if you have not done so already. Clearance lasts for two years. We can verify clearance in the front office. See Mrs. Williams or Mr. McDaniel. As a reminder, the first bell rings at 8:55 AM and the tardy bell rings at 9 AM. Monday, November 25th, we have our monthly Victorious Vikings Ceremony at 9:30 AM (select students) for the character trait-Charity & Gratitude! We also have our monthly SAC Meeting at 4 PM. We will also have our Title I Annual Meeting. Hope to see you there! Tuesday, November 26th is Kona Ice Day. Prices are $3-$6. Wednesday, November 27th-Friday, November 29th is Thanksgiving Break. Students return to school on Monday, December 2nd. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Week. We are grateful for each student and family that attends Venetia.

Buses run as normal. Thursday, November 21st, we are hosting our Transition to Middle School Night for all families of 5th Graders starting at 5:30-6:30 PM. Come learn of the many DCPS Middle School Options. We will end the week celebrating Fall and Giving Thanks by wearing any Fall or Thanksgiving Themed attire.
