Admissions Commitment

Southside Middle School is committed to student excellence, achievement, and growth. We seek to provide a safe environment where culture and diversity is valued, and a high-quality standard of education contributes to the development of productive citizens for a global society.

At Southside Middle School we offer classes with teachers who are effective and/or highly effective in their field of study. We also offer a variety of courses to invoke not only the academic side of students but also the creative, inquisitive, and global-mindedness of each student.

We have over twenty-four different languages and/or dialects spoken on our campus, whether that is represented through members of our student body or faculty and staff. We encourage students to embrace the multicultural and diverse academic setting of Southside Middle School.

 Admissions Requirements

  • Apply for DCPS Magnet Status,

  • Level 3 or higher on previous year Florida FAST exams in English Language Arts and Math,

  • Maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA in all IB Coursework
