A Vibrant Beacon of Creativity and Culture

LaVilla School of the Arts stands as a vibrant beacon of creativity and culture in Jacksonville, Florida, situated on the historic grounds that once thrived as the Harlem of the South. This legacy of legendary musicians like Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, and Count Basie infuses our school community with a deep appreciation for the arts and a commitment to excellence.

A History of Academic Excellence

Serving around 975 students in grades 6-8, LaVilla has maintained an “A” rating from the state of Florida since our inception in 2000. Our diverse student body is selected through a magnet lottery process, reflecting the rich cultural mosaic of Jacksonville.
