Stingray Nation Weekly Update Atlantic Coast High School

Hello Stingray Nation,

It's time to begin our Course Selection process for the 2025–2026 school year! School counselors will meet with students individually to select courses for the upcoming year. Before their meeting with the counselor, students will attend grade-level scheduling assemblies. At the assembly, students will receive an updated School Resource Handout, a draft copy of the Course Request Card, the Atlantic Coast Course Progression, and the Course Description Guide to help them prepare for their one-on-one meeting with their school counselor. The draft Course Request Card must be completed prior to the scheduled meeting, which will be arranged through the students’ English classes. Parents, please review and discuss your student’s course options and selections. During the individual meeting, counselors will use the draft Course Request Card to finalize the official Course Request Card, and students will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have.

The last chance for senior photos session will be held this Tuesday, February 4th. If you are a senior who has not taken their photo with Cady to be included in the yearbook, you will attend this session. The cost is $10, so either bring the fee with you or it will be added to your student debt to be paid by the end of the year. Seniors who need to take their photo will be sent separate communication regarding this session. Please see Ms. Lakatos for more information.

Graduating Seniors. The Seal of Biliteracy is given to graduating seniors with a standard diploma who can show competency in another language. This may be done in one of three ways.

  1. Earn a 3.0 in four consecutive high school credit World Language courses.

  2. Pass a language test approved by the State of Florida.

  3. Complete a portfolio.

Please check your student email for details on how to apply and/or register for testing.  Applications are due by Friday, March 7th, 2025.
