Hello Stingray Nation,
This Wednesday, January 15th, will be an MNM Day, or a Morning of No Movement Testing Shutdown Day. On this day:
9th and 10th-grade students will take the FAST Progress Monitoring 2 (PM2) assessment for ELA.
11th-grade students will either take the FAST Retake to meet state graduation requirements in ELA or the PERT exam to qualify for Dual Enrollment and Senior Leave eligibility for next school year.
Seniors will be in a quiet study hall in the Gym during the testing time.
It is important that all students testing this day bring a fully charged DCPS device to school. Doing their best on the PM2 assessment will help prepare them for success on PM3 in May, and performing well on the PERT exam can open doors for valuable opportunities for next school year, including Dual Enrollment and Senior Leave privileges.
To maintain a secure testing environment, there will be no student checkouts allowed from 7:50 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on January 15th. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to ensure a smooth and successful testing day for all students.
Seniors with the Stingray bundle need to make plans to swing by Ms. Lakatos’s windows during all lunches to pick up a special surprise – an AC Stanley-like cup!
Tuesday, January 21st, is the last chance for seniors to take their senior photo to be included in the yearbook. This session will take place on campus during the school day. Seniors who need to take their photo were sent separate communication regarding this session. Please see Ms. Lakatos for more information.
Tuesday, January 28th, is our annual senior breakfast. Students in any of the senior bundles (stingray, ocean, and reef) all have tickets to attend. Seniors must have a ticket to attend, so if you are not in a senior bundle there are a limited number of tickets available for sale on the schools school cash website, dcps.schoolcashonline.com, through the end of this week only.
Following the senior breakfast, all seniors will be invited via an all-call announcement into the gym to take our senior panoramic. All seniors need to be sure to be on campus on Tuesday, January 28th, if they want to be included in the senior panoramic.
Grad Bash tickets for the Class of 2025 are on sale now. Go to dcps.schoolcashonline.com to purchase your ticket no later than February 1st.
Graduation for the Class of 2025 will be on Friday, May 23rd, at 1pm at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. For more information about graduation, caps and gowns, grad bash and more, check out the digital senior update at bit.ly/achs2025.
