Stingray Nation Weekly Update Atlantic Coast High School

Hello Stingray Nation,

We hope everyone had a long and relaxing break and look forward to welcoming you back on campus tomorrow morning. As a reminder, tomorrow, Monday, December 2nd, will be a B-day.

Come out and show your school spirit at our PTSA Spirit Night on Tuesday, December 3rd, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Culver's on Hodges Blvd. (4768 Hodges Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32224). Enjoy a delicious meal while supporting Atlantic Coast High School's PTSA. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go directly toward funding programs, events, and resources for our students and teachers. It’s a win-win! This is a great opportunity to meet other Stingray families, connect with the PTSA, and learn about how you can get involved. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or new to the school, we’d love to see you there!

Miss Atlantic Coast is hosting a blanket drive starting tomorrow, December 2nd, through Monday, December 16th. They are collecting NEW blankets for those in need as the temperature drops this season. Donations can be dropped off at designated spots around campus, including the front office. Students please note: you can earn a maximum of only 1 service hour, regardless of the number of blankets you donate.

Homecoming information has been distributed to students, posted on the ACHS website, and sent out via email to all students and parents.

  • The dance will be held on Friday, December 13th, here on campus.

  • Tickets are on sale on dcps.schoolcashonline.com only. Tickets will not be sold at the door so be sure to pre-purchase your ticket. If you previously purchased tickets, those are still valid, and you do not need to purchase another ticket.

  • Make sure you read the dress code for the dance. Students not in dress code will not be allowed to enter the dance.

  • Students who want to bring an outside guest must submit the fully completed forms no later than this Friday, December 6th. If you already submitted a form, you do not need to do it again.

Ray Rally will be on December 12th from 3pm to 5:30pm. The cost is $1 to enter. Come join us for a fun afternoon of games, food, and music. Be sure to head to the auditorium after the festivities end to attend our Performing Arts department’s annual Holiday Concert. More information on tickets to the concert will be available soon.

Seniors! Don’t forget that we will be hosting Instant Decision Day on Thursday, December 12th from 7:30am-2pm in the auditorium. All applications MUST be submitted to the college/university by this Friday, December 6th. Registration information can be found in the Counseling Office, English 4 classes, US Government classes, or Economics classes. Information is also posted on the ACHS website, Morning Rays, and ACHS Counseling Instagram page. Please review the admission requirements (GPA, test scores, etc.) for each school of your choice and complete their application prior to the scheduled event. For applications of colleges that you will complete the day of the event, please bring your fully charged laptop. If you have any further questions concerning this event, please feel free to speak with your counselor.
