This year our students are earning House Points based on their behavior and good choices at school. Then they will have the opportunity to spend these points in our shop. We need your help to stock our shop with treats for the students to purchase. Please view our wish list via the attached QR code and make a purchase if you are able to do so. We greatly appreciate your help! We also accept any donations of bags of chips, Takis, individually wrapped candy and snacks, and small toys. Thank you! Good Afternoon Ortega Families, The City of Jacksonville is mobilizing in response to the impending threat of potential hurricane Helene. In response to the safety threat posed by the storm and the City’s need for shelters: Duval County Public Schools will cease normal operations for students at the conclusion of the early release school day, Wednesday, Sept. 24. There will be no school Thursday 9/26 or Friday 9/27. Afterschool Programs and Athletics: Extended day programs will remain open for normal hours on Wednesday; however, parents and guardians will be encouraged to pick up their children early. All after school activities and athletics scheduled for Wednesday afternoon through Friday, Sept. 27 are canceled. After the storm passes, we will decide when athletics practices and contests can resume. Facilities Preparations and Shelters: District teams are already preparing campuses for the storm following normal procedures. Good Morning Ortega Families, See the flyer below for information about our Parent Resource Center located in the media center. Our center contains books, board games, educational games, math practice, and reading practice materials. Parents can check these items out and take them home to use for home reading and math practice. We also have two parent only computers in our media center that parents can come in and use to check their focus account, print materials, apply for jobs, and more!
