It's Literacy Week and Friday will be our Vocabulary Parade at 9:00 a.m. We're very excited to see all the costumes!
Here are some tips to get ready:
1. Think of a "juicy" word that would have an interesting costume design.
2. Use items from around your home such as boxes, posterboard, aluminum foil, etc.
3. Make a card with your word written in very large print so everyone can see it.
4. Wear your costume to school on Friday!
Parents, you are welcome to wait in front of the school in the bus loop area to join in the celebration.

Loretto Families, the district remains in direct contact with the Jacksonville Emergency Management team regarding the potential for dangerous winter weather coming into our area. Given the possibility for unsafe conditions, DCPS will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

We hope your holiday break was filled with more relaxation than your email inbox, and that you managed to escape the 'What’s for dinner?' question at least once.
Parents, get ready for the daily scramble of lunches, permission slips, and trying to remember if it’s “Red Tuesday” or “Green Wednesday.”
Students, time to swap your pajamas for real clothes (we promise, it’s worth it). Let’s shake off the holiday sugar rush and dive into a year of learning, laughter, and possibly more homework than we’d like to admit. Let’s make 2025 unforgettable — in a good way!"
Check out the newsletter for what's going on in January....PS its testing time in 3-5...let's get 100% attendance on the 1st try!!!

We are deeply saddened to share that Ms. Bickerstaff, beloved 4th grade teacher, passed away this morning. She will be greatly missed by the Loretto family. Information on services will be forthcoming.

'Twas the day of holiday break, and all through the school,
The students were smiling, excitement the rule.
The classrooms were tidy, the lessons all through,
And everyone knew what they were about to do.
The teachers were cheerful, their work all complete,
Looking forward to time with family to meet.
The bells rang, the buses pulled out in a line,
As the kids waved goodbye, ready for fun time.
So off to the holidays, with joy and delight,
We’ll see you in January, refreshed and bright!

Good Morning,
This is a friendly reminder that today is Early Release Day. Students are dismissed an hour and 45 minutes earlier than normal dismissal time. (See the attached picture)
Also, at the front of the building will be a table of all of the coats, shirts, etc. from the lost and found. Please take a moment throughout the day to stop up and see if you can find any of your children's lost items. If they are not picked up by Friday, they will be donated.
Thank you!!!
