Hey students! Are you interested in becoming a Minecraft Student Ambassador? The program is designed to provide leadership and skill development opportunities for students as they train, support, and mentor fellow students and teachers with using Minecraft Education. This is not just a club to play Minecraft. We're looking for passionate individuals who want to make an impact on their school community using technology. This club will meet in person once per month on Wednesdays for one hour after school. After students have applied, teachers will review the list of students then select students who not only know how to play Minecraft, but also have strong leadership skills and are both willing/able to help other students and their teacher. Students who participated last year must re-apply. Unfortunately, due to the high amount of interest in this club, not all students will be selected. If you're interested in being a part of this amazing club, please fill out the application! You can find it selecting the link below. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and are due September 11th so don't wait too long! No late applications will be accepted. Apply today! Hello Team Duval families, We heard your feedback! You said you wanted a seamless, streamlined communication experience. Everything in one place. We are excited to present the NEW Duval Schools app! About the Duval Schools App Through this easy-to-navigate app, you can: • Receive a feed of regular district and school-level updates. • Access the Parent Portal to see your child’s academic information. • Communicate with teachers through a new two-way communication tool called Rooms! This means that you will no longer need multiple tools to keep up with your students’ teachers. District updates, classroom updates, and parent-teacher communication will all exist within one tool. You will continue to receive phone calls, text messages, emails, and/or voice calls from the district and your students’ principals to ensure that no matter what type of communication you prefer, your needs are met. About Rooms Rooms is a two-way parent-teacher communication tool that is available in the new app. It will bring all classroom conversations into one place and will take the place of any other communication tool previously used by Duval County Public Schools. It also enables teachers to share classroom announcements and updates in a way that’s much simpler for families. Here are just a few Rooms features we think you’re going to love: • Two-way messaging with parents, guardians, students, and staff in a monitored, secure space • Teachers can share classroom announcements, activities, and send reminders about coursework to families • Teachers can upload and store classroom materials • Teachers can record student behavior and academic progress • Automatic translation in your preferred language How Do I Get Started? Follow these three easy steps: 1. Delete the old Duval Schools app on your phone if you had one. 2. Download the new Duval Schools app. 3. Visit www.duvalschools.org/app for easy-to-use tutorials on how to navigate Rooms and the new app. We look forward to a great school year!

Parents, We'd like to thank our Faith Partner, Hopewell Church, for their continued support. As we get through the first few weeks of the year, I'd like to remind everyone of the following if you are using the Hopewell parking lot. 1. Upon entering Hopewell, parents are permitted to use the entire parking lot located in front of the church (on the left side upon entering). 2. The first three rows of parking from the "FENCE" are also designated for parent use (on the right side upon entering). Please leave the two rows of parking in front of the Hopewell Preschool reserved for Hopewell parents and staff only. 3. Additional parking is available at the rear of the church, but please be mindful not to occupy spaces designated for Hopewell parents and staff. 4. It is crucial to adhere to the speed limit in the parking lot as speeding poses a significant risk to children's safety. 5. We kindly ask that parents and students refrain from walking on the grass. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to our main office. Thank you!
