Happy Saturday Patriots! Literacy Week was fantastic! Thank you to all the staff, faculty, parents, AND cadets who made this week a remarkable success. It was wonderful to see all the cadets buying and checking out books. This week we will find which cadet won the writing contest.
Attendance Survey Window or what we call FTE is upon us. This is a survey of student attendance in the middle of the school year. Public schools, like JSMAL, are funded based on the number of students that are in attendance during the survey time. What does this mean to you? I need to see your cadet at school this week. If you will not be able to bring your cadet to school this coming week, February 3-7, please let my Assistant Principal, Christina Thompson know so that we can get you accounted for and not lose funding.
Purple Star School of Distinction – Congratulations Joseph Stilwell Military Academy of Leadership. On Tuesday, JSMAL, along with a few other schools, will be recognized at the School Board meeting for becoming a Purple Star School of Distinction. The purpose of the Purple Star School of Distinction Designation is to recognize schools that support the unique needs of military families, help military-connected students navigate critical challenges and provide resources for military-connected students when transitioning to a new school environment.

Tuesday, Feb 4 – (A Day) JSMAL will be recognized at the School Board meeting (6pm) for earning the Purple Star Designation. Boys’ soccer at home vs Westside.
Wednesday, Feb 5 – (B Day) Basketball at JWJ.
Thursday, Feb 6 – (A Day) Girl’s soccer at home vs JWJ.
