Patriot News

Dear parents/guardians,

Happy Sunday Patriots! It has been a beautiful weekend.  Welcome fall and goodbye summer weather!  I am super proud of our cadets!  Our average daily attendance is up at 91%.  Last year at this time we were at 89%.  I hope our BIZI buck incentive plan motivates your cadets to come to school, every day!  Now we must focus on student learning.  Remember our goal for your cadet (s) is to get them high school ready.  To be high school ready is to have a GPA over a 2.0 and your reading and math level on those state tests is a 3 or higher.  If you do not know, these scores are available in your parent portal.  You can also ask your cadet.  He or she should know as we have been engaging in data chats with your children.  If you want to know what you can do to help your child, please reach out to his or her teachers. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and please pray for the JAGS as they are about to take on the Eagles.

Parent weekly emails - At some point the district will lose this blackboard app that I have been using to send these weekly emails.  Thrillshare will be the only way I will be able to update you weekly. So if you have not downloaded the Thrillshare App, please do so.

Parents of 8th graders – We are in the process of setting up an in-school tour of Frank H. Peterson on December 11.  This will be a field trip for all cadets interested in going to FHP High School next year.

For parents, whose cadet rides a bus. We are excited to announce the full launch of our new Edulog bus monitoring app! Families can now use the app to monitor their child’s bus in real time and receive notifications if there is a delay. Visit duvalschools.org/page/busapp to download the app and learn how to use it.

We still have a few spots for the in-school field trip coming soon! Iceman Game fieldtrip November 14, 2024. You can pay for the field trip online at schoolcashonline.com
