Duval County School Police Investigations Division is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations of all open misdemeanor and felony crimes. Duval County School Police Investigations unit, in conjunction with federal, state, and local agencies, conducts narcotics and gang investigations inside of all Duval County School district properties. By using active surveillance and other proactive investigative techniques.

The follow-up investigations of misdemeanor and felony crimes committed on or linked to school board property include burglaries, robberies, narcotics, and violent crimes. We work closely with a multitude of law enforcement agencies, such as the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Duval County School Police Detectives are highly trained in the areas of crime scene processing, evidence collection and interrogation. Duval County School Detectives conduct over 1,000 follow-up criminal investigations each year.

Personnel investigations are administrative in nature and are conducted to determine if an employee has violated any School Board Rules or federal, state, and local laws. Duval County School investigates over 100 personnel cases each year and is also responsible for criminal record checks on all employees. Duval County School Detectives are available to provide uniform support during peak time periods such as the opening and closing of schools. Our Detectives also conduct site security assessments to identify vulnerabilities for county school properties.
