Feb. 13, 2024 – The Master Facility Plan is well underway, with construction gearing up on the new Englewood and Spring Park elementary schools, two of five schools anticipated to open August 2025.
The rebuild will result in the consolidation and rearrangement of boundaries among three schools: Englewood Elementary, Love Grove Elementary, and Spring Park Elementary.
The transition to the two new school campuses began in the fall of 2023 through a series of meetings with stakeholders representing Englewood, Spring Park, and Love Grove elementary schools. These meetings, which under board policy are called the Academic and Community Excellence (ACE) Planning Process, enable stakeholders who live, work, and have children in the respective communities to discuss boundary changes and other issues that would impact the three schools.
The ACE process concluded after three meetings on Jan. 16, and the recommendations from the working group were sent to the superintendent for review. The process will conclude with a community meeting, where the working group’s recommendations will be presented. It is scheduled to take place at Love Grove Elementary on Monday, Feb. 26 at 5:30 p.m.
What Englewood families should know:
Englewood Elementary students will relocate to the Windy Hill Elementary campus for the 2024-25school year while the new school is under construction.
Bus transportation to Windy Hill will be provided to students who qualify, with a bus stop at the Englewood Elementary campus for students who were originally walkers.
Upon completion, Englewood and some Love Grove Elementary students will transition to the new campus.
What Spring Park families should know:
The new replacement school will be built on the adjacent St. Nicholas playground property near the current Spring Park Elementary.
Students will continue to attend classes at their original campus while the new facility is being constructed.
Upon completion, Spring Park and some Love Grove Elementary students will transition to the new campus.
What Love Grove families should know:
The rebuilding of the two schools does not impact students for the 2024-25 school year. Students will continue to attend classes on their current campus.
New boundaries have been submitted to the superintendent for review; based on the proposed zoning map, students will attend either the new Englewood Elementary or Spring Park Elementary based on their address starting the 2025-26 school year.
