Title IX and Title I Coordinator

Mr. Ashman currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to his work in the Educational Services sector, he spent 15 years on Wall Street employed by various major investment banks in the field of Information Technology. Using his SUNY degree and professional experience in Applied Mathematics, Mr. Ashman began his journey in Higher Education as a high school teacher and taught Mathematics at A. Philip Randolph High School in Duval County.
After spending 9 years in the classroom and teaching every conceivable Mathematics course available, he moved into the role of Dean of Students at Jefferson Davis Middle School, and Fort Coraline Middle School. He was subsequently promoted to the position of Assistant Principal at Stillwell Middle School, Innovation and School Improvement, and Riverside High School. Mr. Ashman is delighted to return to Westside High School and further states that it is an absolute privilege and pleasure to continue the work of motivating and educating children, and providing them with the requisite tools, skills and knowledge to successfully address the challenges of the future. Mr. Ashman has a wife of 25 years and 3 adult children, who were educated through the public school system at Duval County Public School and have all gone on to pursue and complete University degrees in Economics, Molecular Biology and Information Technology/Analytics. Mr. Ashman enjoys watching Sports, particularly track and field, and soccer, which stems from his childhood and growing up in his homeland of Jamaica.

Mrs. Sabrina Hall

Mrs. Sabrina Hall

Mrs. Hall transitioned from corporate America to the amazing world of teaching in 2008. Mrs. Hall taught Algebra I and Geometry at Andrew Jackson High School. During her sixth year of teaching, Mrs. Hall decided to make a difference at a larger scale. She moved into school leadership by serving as an Assistant Principal in both middle and high school. Mrs. Hall had the pleasure of leading at William M. Raines High School, Southside Middle School, and Jefferson Davis Middle School.

A few of Mrs. Hall’s most notable professional accomplishments include:

Recognition as a Top 5 Finalist for the Duval County 2015 Teacher of the Year.

Partnering with other educators to create amazing memories for students through events like:

Math Green Parties (celebration of math growth),

A Taste of Raines (a student showcase of visual and performing art talent),

Schoolwide Cultural Studies Lessons (valuing and appreciating other cultures)

Collaborating with the University of Florida and Study Edge to launch Algebra Nation, a math resource, designed to increase student pass rate on the state’s Algebra I End of Course Exam (a graduation requirement).

Consistently attaining notable student growth on state assessments, proving that all children can learn and show significant growth, despite having a label of “level 1 or non-proficient”.

When Mrs. Hall is not working with tons of amazing people, she is enjoying time with her family, reading, or completing logic and crossword puzzles.
