Exceptional Plants
Exceptional People
Thank you for your business!
The students involved in the "Palm Avenue Gardens" enterprise engage in a hands-on learning experience by planting seeds, and bulbs, and transplanting cuttings to cultivate a variety of fruits, flowers, herbs, and vegetables. These plants are nurtured in both a greenhouse and a raised-bed garden. The students are responsible for preparing pots and soil, planting seeds and transplants, and providing the necessary watering and fertilization until the plants reach maturity. Additionally, they utilize the herbs they have cultivated to create unique seasonings.

Instruction in the "Palm Avenue Gardens" enterprise is designed to teach positive work behaviors and attitudes so that the students are better able to experience success as they move into volunteer positions and competitive employment.
As our students begin working, their supervisors and employers stress that good employability skills are necessary to finding and keeping a job.
Students are to conduct themselves in ways that are safe and appropriate, that will prevent harm to themselves and the environment, and will not violate accepted rules and laws. The students may also need to adapt their behavior to specific locations and jobs. Our students are working diligently to improve their work and employability skills as they complete the tasks in the “Palm Avenue Gardens” enterprise.
