Project SEARCH Mission:

Project SEARCH is a comprehensive nine-month internship program at UF Health Jacksonville designed to equip young adults with disabilities for the workforce. The primary objective of the program is to assist interns in securing competitive and meaningful employment. This initiative fosters total workplace immersion, seamlessly integrating classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through a series of worksite rotations. Each participant in Project SEARCH is aimed at achieving competitive, meaningful employment. The program offers three 10-week internships customized to align with each intern's interests and career aspirations. Through these internships, participants will cultivate a diverse set of skills and tools while exploring various employment sectors, which is essential for developing successful career trajectories.

Current Update:

At present, we have a total of eight interns who have commenced their first internship rotation. We are currently in the fourth week of the program. The interns are actively engaged in several departments, including Housekeeping, Outpatient Rehabilitation, Mailroom, Laundry, Shipping and Receiving, Sterile Processing, Radiology, and the Cafeteria Dishroom.
