Many colleges expect students to take a college-placement test, such as those provided by the College Board and ACT. It is recommended that every student take the ACT and SAT at least one-time Junior year (Spring semester) and one-time Senior year (Fall semester). Colleges may require students to take the test(s) more than this to gain admissions or scholarship awards. Click on the links below to view test dates, times, and fees. See below for information regarding fee waivers.
Eligible students will receive four ACT and two SAT Waivers per lifetime. Waivers are issued during Junior and Senior year only. Please email Ms. S. Robinson at Email Ms. S. Robinson for waivers.

ACT and SAT Frequently Asked Questions
When should I take the tests?
Seniors - at least once per test Fall semester
Juniors - at least once per test Spring semester
Underclassmen - as needed or desired
How do I pay for the tests?
Seniors and Juniors may qualify for test fee waiver. Contact Mrs. S. Robinson (Email Mrs. S. Robinson) for more information.
What can I use my scores for?
College admissions, scholarships including Bright Futures, dual enrollment eligibility, and FSA/FAST Concordant scores for graduation requirements.
Who should I send my scores to?
College you are applying to or you may apply for in the future. Always send a copy to FSCJ also for dual enrollment (free college classes!). See your school counselor for more information.
How do I prepare for these tests?
Participate in your PER CAR classes, ACT/SAT Boot Camps, and practice online (ACTStudent.org and CollegeBoard.org). See your school counselor for more information.
Will taking the test again erase my previous scores?
No. Colleges often use "Super Scoring" for admissions. This means they use your highest score in each area, no matter when you took the test, and combine them for a Super Score.
What if my score seems low?
Take the test again! Think about how you prepared for the first test. Adjust your prep habits based on what you learned from taking the test. See the above answer about Super Scoring.
