Speak out

Let your certified athletic trainer, coach, or parent know as soon as possible. The quicker you tell someone about a possible injury the quicker you can get back to playing at 100%. If you try to hide an injury, it can become severe enough that it keeps you from playing a lot longer.

Assess

Get your injury assessed by the certified athletic trainer to see if further medical attention is needed. If medical attention is needed, your certified athletic trainer can work with the volunteer team physician to get you in as quickly as possible.

Focus

Take this time to focus on getting better. Your sports medicine team will work with you to do what is needed to ensure you return at 100% of your athletic potential, but your cooperation is a large part of that.

Ease

Once you are able to participate in sports again don’t jump right into where you were. Ease yourself back into full participation. Your certified athletic trainer will work with you and your coach to return you to full participation.
