AICE Testing Information

Dear AICE students,

Exam Times:

AICE exams begin April 25th. Please be sure that you have ALL your dates, times, and locations posted in calendars. Please set reminders and alarms accordingly. If you are unsure about the date, time, or location of any of your exams, please consult the teacher-of-record for that specific class or come to the Testing/Curriculum Office in the Main Office wing.  Please note that if exams begin later than expected due to extenuating circumstances, you must remain seated in the exam room for the minimum duration of the test.  No one will be permitted to leave the testing environment, for any reason, even if the test began later than expected (this includes reasons such as appointments, work schedule, etc.).

There are NO MAKEUP AICE exams under any circumstance, emergency or not.  If you arrive late to a testing environment, IF you are permitted in, you will not be allotted any additional time for the completion of the exam past the traditional stop time.  These are not Fletcher High School rules, but AICE mandated procedures.

Traditional Student Report Time for AM exams:  7:30 am

Traditional Student Report Time for PM exams:  11:30 am

All students who have overlapping exams were directly spoken with and given a copy of and provided signed acknowledgement of how to handle those particular exam days. If you lose your unique printout of alternate or accommodation exam schedule, come pick up another copy in the Testing/Curriculum Office in the Main Office wing.

Extended time accommodation students will remain working in the same testing environment they start, past the traditional stopping time, until your extended time has expired.  It is the student's responsibility to  notify their parents, prior to the test beginning, if this extended time is going to extend past the traditional 2 pm school dismissal time.

Centre Supervision:

Centre Supervision essentially means that you will be under exam conditions with required supervision until after your last exam is taken on that day. Typically, student with overlapping or conflicting exams will be under Centre Supervision.  You may not have access to phones or laptops. You may bring paper/pencil study materials, water (see below for proper water bottles), and snacks/lunch materials. No cell phones are permitted in the testing or centre supervision locations. Please find a home for your phone for that day.  There will be a bin for you to store your items prior to entering the testing environment--this includes turned off laptops for any AP exams you may also have on said day. You may not leave the testing environment, speak to students outside of your centre supervision group, and will be escorted to the next exam by an adult. Restroom breaks must also require an adult escort to and from.

Candidate Cards:    *****NEW POLICY*****

Upon entering each testing environment, you will sit at a testing table/desk that contains an index card with your candidate name, candidate #, specific test name and additional testing information.  DO NOT TOUCH, FOLD, OR MAKE ANY MARKS ON YOUR CANDIDATE CARD prior to, during, or after testing.  DO NOT take your candidate card out of the testing environment for any reason.  These candidate cards will be picked up off of your testing table/desk, in candidate number, by exam proctors.  These candidate cards will be REUSED for the next testing experience in that subject area.  If there is any incorrect information on your card, please be sure to raise your hand and consult with a proctor about identified incorrect information.

Food/Drinks:

You may have a water bottle—but it must be clear and must not have any labels.

Watches and Electronics:

You may not have phones, smart watches, etc. You may have a regular watch, but it must be visible on the table during all exams.

Non-Electronic Noise Cancelling Earbuds: (Approved Accommodation Students Only)

Please be advised that if you have this accommodation applied for and designated to you for an exam, you must have your non-electronic earbuds out in the palm of your hand showing when you walk through the exam entrance so the proctor can appropriately inspect.

Word Processors:  (Approved Accommodation Students Only)

Please be advised that you will be provided a laptop and personalized thumb drive, in your testing environment, to utilize in providing your responses.  You will have a file on your thumb drive specific to each test name.  Ensure that your spelling and grammar check is "off" when you begin typing your response.  Directions on how to turn these features off will be provided in writing to you.  You will only be permitted to type your responses in Microsoft Word and all internet capabilities will be turned off and monitored that they remain off, from a central location.  NOTE:  This applies to AICE tests only; all students taking an AP test are expected to bring their DCPS laptop.
