Internal Board Audit (IBA) at Duval County Public Schools (District) is an independent appraisal function which was established to examine and evaluate District activities as a service to management and stakeholders. The overall mission of IBA is to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve operations.

IBA audits operations of the District.  To function properly, auditors must be independent of the activities they audit.  Such independence permits auditors to perform their work freely and objectively.  The Executive Director of Internal Board Audit reports to the School Board, thereby providing the independence to objectively appraise operations of the District.

IBA's vision is to be among the best internal audit departments in the country, recognized by stakeholders and peers for innovation, integrity of work, and quality of reports.
