Please make sure your student is registered to ride a bus. If there is any time this year your student will/may have a need to ride a bus to or from school, it is best to register prior to the beginning of the school year. Registration is completed through the Parent/Guardian Focus account. If you have yet to secure your Parent/Guardian Focus account, please watch the following video showing how this can be accomplished: Register for Parent/Guardian account in FOCUS (English and Spanish Versions)
Please use the following 2024–2025 instructions to secure your student's place on a school bus: 2024-2025 Bus Registration_English Should you need video instructions, you can find them here: Register for a bus (English and Spanish versions)
In the AM: In the morning, students can ride a bus to their zoned neighborhood high school and then take a “shuttle” bus to Douglas Anderson. Parents can also drop students off at the high schools, and students can choose to ride the shuttle bus only. Shuttle buses leave from the high schools between 7:00 and 7:15.
* AM Exception: Students who live in the Fletcher High attendance area: There are buses (north beach area and south beach area) that pick up students at public locations and go to Fletcher Middle to catch shuttles. From there, students take a shuttle bus to DA. Students who live in the Fletcher High School attendance area do not shuttle from Fletcher H.S. in the morning. Parents may drop students at Fletcher Middle School to ride the shuttle bus. AM shuttle buses leave Fletcher Middle School at 7:00 AM.
In the PM: In the afternoon, the routes are “Express Routes” with limited bus stops at public locations, at or near schools. The "one mile to a bus stop" policy does not apply. Parents are responsible for getting students to and from the bus stops.
* PM Exception- Students who live in the far north and beach areas: Students living on the far north side shuttle to First Coast High School and students who live in the beaches area shuttle to Fletcher High School. There are buses from each location to neighborhood “express stops.” These shuttles are included on the PM routes listed above.
Activity Bus Routes: Five (5) after-school activity bus routes leave Douglas Anderson at 5:10 every day except Wednesdays. These routes are not designed to service individual neighborhoods but generally accessible locations such as schools.
