Get Involved
The Duval County Council of PTAs/PTSAs has more than 35,000 members in approximately 160 Parent/Teacher Associations throughout our school district. The Duval County Council and its member PTAs are vigorously involved in many outstanding activities throughout the year.
These include:
- Sponsoring and staffing the
Teacher Supply Depot, which has distributed more than $10 million in equipment and supplies to teachers.
- Conducting numerous leadership workshops for parents, teachers, principals and students on health, leadership, education, parenting issues, as well as facilitating workshops and training to assist PTA officers and members.
- Coordinating volunteers for vision screening in all schools and providing eyeglasses for children whose parents can't afford them. More than two million kids have received the gift of improved vision.
- Funding of two full-tuition scholarships at Florida Community College at Jacksonville, and funding of two partial-tuition scholarships at the University of North Florida.
