Uniting a variety of community-based
organizations-nonprofits, government, institute
higher education, neighborhood associations, PTA's,
civic organization-to enhance the academic, physical,
mental, social, fiscal, and environmental wellbeing of Duval County Public School Students
and their families.
MISSION
To improve and expand the resources, opportunities, and relationships with
community-based organizations to more effectively serve the students
and families of Duval County.
We know that
community-based organizations
play the lead role in
assuring the wellbeing of
families throughout Duval County. And we also know that when
you connect the strategies in
the school, family and home
environments, students' success is greatly enhanced. The Department of Community & Family Engagement works alongside
a variety of organizations to assist schools in reaching goals and objectives outlined in School Improvement Plans.
Community-based organizations are organized to improve and expand the resources, opportunities and relationships with
schools and/or the District to develop and implement a coordinated response to Duval County Public Schools' students
and their families. It promotes collaboration and sharing of resources and information between
businesses, faith-based, community groups, schools and parents.
The Department of Community & Family Engagement assesses, maintains and develops relationships with
community-based organizations and the District to unite a variety of stakeholders
in the common purpose of promoting student success. This office provides technical assistance to existing partners and
develops relationships with new agencies to build the
collective power of the
district, the organizations, and the schools.
